A crochet workshop for any Scotland fans, dog lovers, brooch wearers, crochet enthusiasts, all inspired by the Scottish Terrier, or Scottie dog!
These wee Scottie dogs are crocheted completely in the round from nose to tail, and use only the simplest of stitches (US terms). There will also be a very basic introduction to some Tunisian crochet which is great for building up shapes. The Scottie Dogs will become Scottie Dog brooches and you’ll have the option to finish him off with a woolly scarf or a smart tartan collar?
This class is ideal for anyone with some basic crochet skills, adventurous beginners looking to develop their crochet quickly or refreshing forgotten skills. Join Sharon from Sew Silly Lily in the Front Gallery at Helensburgh Art Hub if you just fancy having ago.
We’ll provide the crochet pattern and the important materials, but please being along the following:
- a 2.0mm crochet hook*
- your own scissors
You are also welcome to bring along your own double knit or 4 ply yarns for the dog, nose and accessories*
*You can also bring a bigger hook and your own chunkier yarn if you’re worried about the scale.
*You DON’T need a special Tunisian crochet hook; a normal one is fine.
