Join Sharon from Sew Silly Lily in the Front Gallery at Helensburgh Art Hub for this fruity workshop. It’s suitable for adventurous beginners looking for a challenge, anyone with some basic crochet skills, refreshing forgotten skills or if you just fancy having a go.
These strawberries will give you a wee taste of crocheting in the round, SC, HDC and DC (US terms), even increasing and decreasing and a bit of sew-as-you-go which is ideal if you're not the best stitcher in the world! These skills are essential if you are interested in Amigurumi, making softies and all sorts of other crochet projects . . .
We’ll provide the crochet pattern and the important materials, but please being along the following:
- a 2.0mm or a 2.5mm crochet hook*
- your own scissors
*If you feel these hooks are too small for you, you can use whatever hook you like as long as you are able to bring along yarn to match. For projects like this we suggest you choose a hook smaller than recommended so you don't see filling through the holes. A bigger strawberry can be made into a hanging decoration!
Taking this workshop is Sharon from Sew Silly Lily; a graduate of Glasgow School of Art with a lifelong passion for textiles, craft and design.
COVID-19 regulations will be followed.
