Get creating while you’re isolating! Join us for a LIVE and interactive workshop and learn how to crochet in rows! With the help of ZOOM you’ll be able to crochet-a-long in the comfort and safety of your own home.
The foundation row is the . . . eh, very foundation of crocheting in rows!! In this beginners workshop we’ll go just beyond it to crochet these simple button up bracelets. They’re designed to take you through the absolute basics of crocheting in rows, including forming chains, slip stitching and single crochet.
This workshop takes place online so you will need to have internet access and the materials listed below to hand. It’s suitable for beginners, anyone who just needs a reminder, or you just fancy having a go.
What you’ll need to craft along. . .
the pattern (this will be emailed before the workshop)
a crochet hook (I’ll be using a 3.0mm hook (I would recommend using a 3.0mm, or 2.75-2.5mm if you have them)
a double knit or 4 ply yarn, ideally cotton or something with little or no stretch (I’ll be using Scheepjes Catona which is a mercerised cotton 4 ply, but we’ll work with whatever you have to hand.)
a feature button around 18-20 ligne (11.5-12mm)
a big eye needle, but one that will go through the holes in your button
a cup of tea and a biscuit – I’ll be having Scottish Blend and shortbread!
Optional extra. . .
If you are local (Helensburgh or Cardross) we can provide a kit with everything you’ll need to complete this project. It will include the yarn I will be using, a 3.0mm hook. a couple of feature buttons and a big eye needle.
You have 3 colour options to choose from:
1. Reed – bottom
2. Moss Green – middle
3. Lavender – top
Kits are £5.00 and will be delivered to your doorstep ahead of the workshop. Send us a pm via facebook with your colour choice and address details by the Wednesday before the workshop date. Payment is by bank transfer.
