In this workshop you’ll learn how to use simple hand embroidery and stitching to hide holes, rips, flaws or stains.

A hole in your favourite cardigan doesn’t have to mean it’s destined for the scrap heap. Broken clothes can often be repaired and sometimes improved with a little bit of time and imagination.

The techniques can also be used to update or add your own touch to a garment.

The cost of the workshop includes a rummage through a pile of scrap materials and everything else you might need.

This workshop is suitable for anyone, but some sewing skills will come in useful.

What you need to bring . . .

A piece of broken clothing – something that needs repaired.

The inspiration for this workshop is reduce, reuse, repurpose, so if you have any fabric off cuts, threads, embroidery threads, tapestry wool or lighter yarns please bring them along.

Taking this class is Sharon from Sew Silly Lily, a graduate of Glasgow School or Art with a lifelong passion for textiles, craft and design.
