Collection: Maeve Dixon

Maeve grew up in Helensburgh and now lives and makes art in Glasgow. She enjoys working mainly in printmaking and in particular doing monoprinting. Currently, her subject matter is landscapes and buildings. Especially places that she has rediscovered since having a child - where she once would have walked by and now stops to look at a little bit closer and a little bit further with her son. Maeve wishes to celebrate buildings that may have had the beauty of their architecture overlooked. And she is interested in the fragility of specific sites (mainly areas around canals and rivers) and the traces left behind by industry and people.

Maeve studied Fine Art Printmaking at the Glasgow School of Art as well as Authorial Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, where she gained her Master of Arts. She is a member of the Glasgow Print Studio, Glasgow Independent Studios, and Scottish Society for the History of Photography.

After a break from art for a number of years, she is enjoying exploring her favourite medium again. Maeve teaches printmaking and works in arts and heritage, as well as making prints on my kitchen table.
